Bungendore Steam Train

Take a trip on the heritage steam train to Bungendore, with the classic vintage steam locomotive ‘3016’.

Be fascinated by the wide range of scenery and native wildlife as the train climbs the scenic Molonglo Gorge before passing into the patchwork pastoral lands beyond.

Travel behind a restored heritage locomotive, in historic end-platform carriages, with comfortable seating and light refreshments available on board.

Who doesn't like a leisurely trip on a steam train? Every month the '3016' makes the trip from Canberra to Bungendore to coincide with the village's market day (3rd Sunday). This is an extremely popular trip and bookings are advised. The '3016' Steam train makes the trip in winter with a historic deisel engine making the trip in the summer months, either one makes for a terrific day out for the whole family.
