This popular annual event is bound to keep the crowds entertained again as a flotilla of home made craft battle it out for supremacy on Queanbeyan River.
This will be the third year that Queanbeyan City Council has run the Regatta, and each year it grows in popularity.
Prizes will again be awarded for Show us Your Style for the most creative crew name and outfits, Dream Engineer for the best craft design, Green Machine for the best use of recycled materials, and Shoot for the Stars for first across the line in both Junior and senior categories.
There will be entertainment both on and off the river, with a range of refreshments and free activities on the river banks. A new addition to this year’s Regatta will be the inclusion of Peter ‘Butcher’ Lindbeck as one of the race callers, which is guaranteed to provide some laughs for the whole crowd.
Free activities for children including a jumping castle. The Antique Boat Squadron will be bringing their wooden boats for the crowd to admire and Molonglo Catchment Group will be bringing their popular interactive Waterwatch display. Queanbeyan Scouts and Girl Guides will be selling food, ice creams and refreshments during the event to raise funds for their groups.
