Queanbeyan Reconciliation Walk

"In 2018, we reflect on a significant anniversary in Australia’s reconciliation journey – 10 years since the National Sorry Day Apology

More than 1000 community members will take to Monaro St on Tuesday 29 May 2018 for the annual Queanbeyan Reconciliation Walk.

This year, with support from the Healthy Country Program & Murumbung Yurung Murra Rangers, Queanbeyan businesses, schools and the parents and grandparents of participants; numbers are expected to grow even further.

All are welcome to this free event including a barbecue at the end of the walk, official proceedings and cultural activities which include: 

  • Traditional Indigenous Games
  • Weaving, Rope, Basket & Jewellery Making
  • Preparing traditional Ochre
  • Smoking (welcoming) Ceremony
  • Axe Head demonstrations.

      Gather at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. The walk will finish at the Sunken Garden in Queanbeyan Park and will be followed by a free BBQ, official proceedings and Cultural activities
