Welcome to the Queanbeyan Area Events Calendar 

Throughout the year Queanbeyan and the Palerang region hosts a diverse calendar of events with something for everyone. The Queanbeyan area is constantly entertaining with arts exhibitions, sporting events, festivals, historical exhibitions as well as enticing gourmet food and wine events.
There's always something happening in our region so come along and see for yourself.

  • Southern Harvest Farmers Market Queanbeyan

    1 February, 2018

    Supported by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, the Southern Harvest Farmers Market at Queanbeyan is a truly regional farmers market.  
    There will be a range of fresh vegetables, fruit, eggs, dairy, honey and meat producers; as well as value added products such as wine, olive oil, preserves, frozen meals, bread, cakes and confectionery.  All produce sold is grown or made by stallholders, and is from the Southern Harvest local region.

  • Bungedore Hoedown

    3 February, 2018

    Bungendore Hoedown, is a free community event for the whole family. Get your hat and boots on and enter the 'best hat and boot combo' competition - 8 categories to choose form (various age groups) and prizes for each category. Or perhaps you would prefer to focus on your gum boot throwing technique or watching and cheer on the two local pubs battle it out in the tug-of-war.  

    Other events held on the same weekend include:
     
    The ACT Bush Band - a show of country music 
    (starting at the Village Square, Malbon Street making its way to the Hoedown).
    Southern Harvest Farmers Market - country fruit and veg at its best 
    Bungendore Country Music Muster is also on.

    Here you will see the latest 4WD vehicles, off road caravans and soft roaders; a comprehensive range of camper trailers, fully equipped touring & off-road 4WD vehicles, 4WD accessories, performance and recovery gear and ACT & regional 4WD club displays; as well as 4WD camping, cooking & equipment demonstrations, take a ride on the exciting test track, childrens activities and a huge range of camping gear.

    The Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) proudly presented by ICON water returns for ‘Music by the River in 2018. Bring your picnic or experience local gourmet street food while listing to musical brilliance.

    There is something truly magical about live music by the water’s edge. Whether it’s the fresh open air, the still water of the river, or the ebb and flow of a musician’s melodies, we always find ourselves enchanted by the sights and sounds. The Canberra Symphony Orchestra are thrilled to be playing a collection of popular classics with each piece bound to bring back memories. These timeless pieces are a celebration of the much-loved Queanbeyan River. This special concert featuring the popular works of Mozart, Handel, Brahms, and many more, will leave you demanding an encore!

  • Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival

    4 March, 2018

    Dance, feel good and feed your rumbling tummy at the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival. Now in its 11th year the Festival hosts entertainment and food from around the world.  
    This year the event has expanded to include the ‘cultural fringe area’ featuring kid’s yoga, mixed martial arts displays, markets, demonstrations and much more. The kids cultural fringe area is a new area designed to allow people to explore culture in new ways, be interactive, and develop new perspective.

  • Shannons Wheels 2018

    4 March, 2018

    The annual Shannons Wheels charity vehicle display for 2018, will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Canberra Antique and Classic Motor Club.   A vehicle display of more than 800 veteran, vintage, classic, historic, commercials and special interest vehicles.
    Shannons Wheels is the Council of ACT Motor Club’s annual charity fund-raising day and brings together vehicles from most of the 75-plus clubs affiliated to the council, and from regional car clubs. This year’s event will be organised by the Canberra Antique and Classic Motor Club which was founded in 1968.

    The rodeo will present all major rodeo events, from bull rides, bull dogging, saddle bronc, bare back, barrel racing, junior bull rides and more.  Families can also enjoy side show alley and children’s activities, as well a variety of refreshments.
