The Queanbeyan Art Society is a non-profit organisation that holds art exhibitions, competitions and classes at O'Neil's Cottage, a charming 1880's brick cottage set on the banks of the Queanbeyan River.
Four of the 11 exhibitions held each year feature works entered in the Society's major annual art competitions covering oils, drawing, works on paper and artists/student of the year. Others include members' shared and solo exhibitions and varying themes.
Art classes are held all week. They cover all mediums and some specialise in a particular subject matter. A relaxed and supportive environment is encouraged and students of all levels are welcome. Tuition costs are minimal. In addition to the regular art classes, visiting professional tutors conduct workshops throughout the year. There is also a monthly newsletter, keeping members informed on news and activities.
